About Sosian Lodge Laikipia
Sosian Lodge Laikipia is a beautifully restored African ranch house that was built in the 1940’s by Italian artisans, and accommodates up to fourteen people in the atmosphere of a private home. Four cottages lie in the tropical garden overlooking Mt. Kenya and miles of unspoiled Africa, each with its own private verandah and ensuite bathroom. The Lodge is ensconced in 24,000 acres of unrivalled and breathtaking terrain spanning across the heart of the Laikipia plateau. Explore the untainted landscapes in the most exhilarating ways possible, walking amongst wildlife or galloping through open grassland on horseback. To stay at Sosian is to experience pure, untouched wilderness. Exploring the raw terrain accompanied by highly experienced guides, whether that be in a vehicle, on foot or on horseback; is an opportunity beyond words.
In addition to the truly exhilarating safari activities on offer each day, including camel safaris, the lodge has much much more to offer guests. There is a swimming pool, a tennis court as well as miles of unmarred wilderness to discover with our best guides. Sosian Lodge Laikipia endeavours to ensure guests experience nothing short of luxury at every turn, however we also appreciate the under rated simplicity and beauty of a night spent under the stars. Fly Camping with Sosian Lodge allows guests the thrilling prospect of discovering the wonders of the Laikipia wilderness after nightfall.
Sosian is also well known for its delicious home cooking using fresh ingredients from the organic vegetable garden and for its warm and friendly hospitality. Striving towards existing as a self sustaining lodge, Sosian aims to function as economically friendly as possible. Rain water is collected and utilised where possible and as a consequence of the large population of elephants in the area, firewood is accessible without having to cut down trees.
