Camel Safaris
AT SOSIAN |
Camels are a familiar sight in Northern Kenya and have been farmed here for hundreds of years. Not only are they very hardy, tasty and providers of lots of milk for northern Kenyan farmers, they are friendly and wonderful to ride as they provide such a great vantage point from which to see the bush. |
We have a big string of camels all well trained in carrying people, comfortable saddles, and a team of camel handlers from various local tribes who lead the camels allowing you to safely enjoy your unusual vantage point. These rides can last anything from 30 minutes to a full day’s safari with overnight camping expedition at the end of it. (see details of flycamping) |
You can also walk next to the camels if you prefer to be on the ground and learn about local culture and bushcraft by talking to the camel handlers who are all from the local area and are very traditional.
