OF SOSIAN
Steve and Annabelle

Born and raised on a farm in Zimbabwe, Steve has been guiding since the day he left school. For the past 18 years he has led guests on safari in the bush and is passionate about wildlife and birds. A keen ornithologist, Steve has a huge knowledge of African birdlife and animal behaviour and is happiest leading clients on foot, one of the most exciting ways of exploring the bush.

His wife Annabelle is originally Scottish and loves cooking, people and animals, and together they have been running safaris for the past ten years. They have two young sons who are always delighted to meet other children and show them around the ranch.
The Staff

We have a team of delightful Kenyan staff from all over Kenya.

Nicodemus the Chef

Nicodemus is Sosian’s head chef and comes from western Kenya near Lake Victoria from the Kisii tribe. He has worked all over Kenya from Samburu to Mombasa and now Laikipia. Nicodemus is a great philosopher and famous for his fish curries and the coastal influence in his cooking.

David Macharia

David is our assistant manager at Sosian and started his career on a flower farm in Naivasha.. In 2001 he moved to Sosian and helped renovate the ranch house and create the garden seen today. David is now involved with all aspects of running the lodge and looking after our guests and fortunately loves being busy.
Guides

Ambrose
Ambrose (Roots and Culture) Ambrose is a Turkana from Northern Kenya's Lake Turkana and is one of our guides. He is known as Roots and Culture amongst all the staff because he is often found collecting special roots from the bush which he makes tea with and swears they have medicinal properties, and Culture because he loves telling our guests about tribal culture and traditions. Ambrose is very enthusiastic in the bush and wonderful with children, spending hours carving traditional sticks and bows for them and teaching them archery. He is also captain of the Sosian Staff Football Team and an avid soccer fan. All our guides have children of their own and they understand how to communicate the magic of the bush to them.
Peter Kariuki

is a Kikuyu and has been working with wildlife for many years, he spent 15 years working on a wild animal orphanage and is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He is very good on birds, has sharp eyes and loves meeting new people and sharing his love of wildlife with them.
Sean and Charlotte

Sean is born and bred Kenyan and after studying agriculture in England, he returned to Kenya to ranch in Africa and now runs the ranch at Sosian where wildlife roams freely alongside cattle.
