Food at Sosian
Sosian is well known for its delicious home cooked African safari food using as many local and fresh ingredients as possible, often home grown. Sosian has a large organic vegetable garden, growing all vegetables used in the cooking.
Before guests leave for the earliest of the morning drives, there are servings of delicious fresh fruit to be enjoyed. Following the morning activities a hearty english breakfast or brunch is served on the riverbank or on the lodge veranda whilst enjoying the view of the gardens.
Guests have the choice to dine by the pool at lunchtime before an afternoon of sunbathing or playing tennis, or otherwise in a nice shady picnic spot in the bush with a delicious picnic.
Prior to heading out for the afternoon ventures onto the wild open plains, we have tea on the veranda. Dinner, depending on the days itinerary and guest preference can either be enjoyed in the beautiful lodge dining room or under the African stars in the bush around a campfire.
The African safari food prepared at Sosian is overlooked by the Head Chef Nicodemus. Nicodemus comes from the Kisii tribe near Lake Victoria to the west of Kenya. Having worked all over Kenya, he is now head chef at Sosian sharing the knowledge and secrets he has acquired throughout his time previously cooking in other places.
